I need to find out how to ship my longboard out to Hawaii. Can I ship it out UPS or is there a better way? I can't bring it with me on the plane because I need to surprise my fiancee with were we are going!
Thank You

Shaper and R&D factory owner Ricky Carroll responds:
It' s funny you ask. I just did this my last trip to Hawaii because I was stopping in California on the way. UPS won't ship longboards because they have length limits. Same with Fed Ex. Go with an air cargo service. I use Delta Air Cargo, but most of the other major airlines have a similar service. They'll charge you based on the dimensions, so make sure you have those ready. It costs about $125, which is a little more than the $75 to $100 they charge you to carry it with you on the plane, but there's no weight limit so you can make it affordable by packing a few together. Plus, you can insure it with air cargo. Whereas on a regular airplane they make you sign that piece of paper which says, "If we damage your board, tough shit" -- only with more words. All you need to do is take it to the closest air cargo place and they'll be in Honolulu when you get off the plane. You can even send it a couple of days before and do "Hold/Pick-up" and they'll be safely waiting for you.
